Today we went to the Temple Hall Corn Maize with the Franklins. Thankfully, we didn't get as lost as we did last year...

Quality Family Time

It's been too long since the Nickels have all been together. We hung out this weekend and it was the perfect chance to take some pictures in the beautiful fall weather. We drove to Clarendon to see the Uncles and played in a park while Talisker, the puppy, got some exercise. These are, by far, some of my favorite pictures that I've taken in a long time.

Columbus Day Weekend Trip

As has become a tradition, we went to Busch Gardens for Columbus Day weekend. It was great fun! Caelan got to go on new rides since he has gotten taller. The weather was gorgeous and even got a little hot!

Caelan really wanted to go on the "big roller coasters". Soon enough, my dear!

Caelan's first ride on the pirate ship. He liked being able to ride some of the bigger rides this year.


In the evening, Busch Gardens gets a little scary at Halloween time. These clowns just loved scaring people.

Then there was Caelan's response to the clowns...So far we've had no nightmares about them that we know of...

Pumpkin time!

Our weekends have been packed and we've been enjoying it thoroughly. On a whim, we drove out to Bluemont and went pumpkin picking. It was beautiful weather and the boys enjoyed picking out pumpkins.

Let's go Nats!

A couple of nights ago the Nats lost in the playoffs against the Cardinals. It was sad...Before that, however, we went to a Nats game when they first made the playoffs. The same day that we went to the game with Grandpa Bodek, the Fraims went too. I managed to go the whole summer without getting burned and I got burned at a fall baseball game. Go figure.

Soccer Saturdays

Caelan started playing soccer this season. Currently it looks more like bunchball than anything else, but it's fun nonetheless. Every week gets a little bit better. The first week he cried and declared that he hated soccer. The second week he didn't cry, but took about 20 water breaks. This week he stayed on the field the whole time, though spent a good amount of time socializing with his friends towards the end.

Trip to the zoo

A couple of weeks ago we took a trip to the zoo. This was doubly exciting as this was the boys' first trip on the metro.

August

August was another fun month in the Bodek household. :) We discovered ice cream for dinner and playing in the rain. Both of these things are new favorite events here...

July WAS AWESOME! Looking back at these pictures are a reminder of what a great month is was. Of course there was our 4th of July celebration...

Tons of fun in the house including building a house in the living room.

Tons of fun outside the house including lots of pool and water table time

Tons of fun playing with friends :) We also went to the beach in July, but I'll do a separate posting about that.
